What if your life is just a prompt written by God?

After watching this video, I was thinking that the life of humanity is the prompt.

Have you ever wondered if our lives are like a "Prompt" meticulously crafted by a higher intelligence (let's call it the "Creator")? Just as we now set initial instructions for Artificial Intelligence (AI), defining its roles, capabilities, and behavioral boundaries, perhaps each of us enters this world carrying a unique "life script."

This idea might sound a bit mystical, but by combining our understanding of AI with reflections on our own human experiences, we might discover some intriguing parallels.

1. Destiny's "System Prompt": Decoding Our Initial Life Settings

In ancient China, sages used Bazi (the Eight Characters of Birth Time) to deduce a person's destiny, attempting to interpret their core behavioral guidelines, role definition, capability boundaries, and fundamental personality. How similar this is to the "System Prompt" we set for AI! An AI's System Prompt determines its foundational functions and behavioral patterns.

Globally, whether it's Western astrology, numerology, the mysterious arts of palmistry, Tarot card reading, or even Eastern I Ching divination, it seems that people from different cultural backgrounds have been trying various methods to "reverse-engineer" or "read" that initial "System Prompt" set for us by the Creator. This ancient wisdom, perhaps, was an attempt to understand our life's original "factory settings."

2. Free Will and Evolution: Life's RAG, CoT, and "Self-Updating"

If the "System Prompt" gives us an initial framework, the beauty of life lies in the fact that we are not entirely passive executors. Our free will and consciousness grant us powerful self-shaping abilities. This can be perfectly analogized to some advanced technologies in the AI field:

  • RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation): As we grow, we continually acquire new information and knowledge from the external world through learning, reading, interacting with others, and experiencing life, much like an AI uses RAG to retrieve information from vast knowledge bases to optimize its output. This information enriches our cognition and helps us make wiser decisions.

  • CoT (Chain-of-Thought): When faced with complex problems, we engage in deep thought, logical reasoning, and analysis of pros and cons to gradually form our judgments and solutions. This is very similar to AI's CoT, where the AI simulates a human thought process to progressively deduce an answer, rather than just giving a final result.

  • MCP (Model Context Protocol): Should a mechanism exist that enables us to consciously update and refine our life objectives and behavioral paradigms based on novel learning and experiences, it could be analogized to a 'Model Context Protocol'. This 'protocol' empowers us to proactively sculpt our identity, continually enhance our capabilities, and even, to a certain extent, 'modify' and optimize our 'User Prompt'—representing the life trajectories and aspirations we deliberately select.

Through these AI-like learning and evolutionary mechanisms, we continuously refine ourselves and build more powerful internal "models."

3. Skills as "Agents," and the Continual Evolution of Life's "User Prompt"

The roles each person plays in society and the skills they possess are like individual "Agents." Because each of our initial "System Prompts" differs, and the "User Prompts" we form through learning and experience during our growth also vary widely, we exhibit different talents and behavioral patterns.

Precisely because of this, we don't have to believe in so-called "fatalism." An initial setting might exist, but our ability to learn, adapt, and make proactive choices empowers us to, to some extent, rewrite and optimize our own "User Prompt," thereby creating our own life's possibilities.

4. The Versatile "MoE": Becoming a Multi-faceted Talent for Complex Problems

In the AI field, there's an architecture called "MoE" (Mixture of Experts). It combines multiple "expert models," each specializing in different areas, to collaboratively solve more complex and comprehensive problems.

How similar this is to those in real life who possess multiple skills and broad knowledge! They can view problems from different perspectives, integrate various resources and methods, and thus more effectively tackle challenges and achieve goals. Such "multi-faceted talents" are precisely what our era needs.

Conclusion: We Are Both "Designed" and "Designers"

Comparing life to a Creator's Prompt is not intended to preach fatalism, but rather to offer a fresh perspective for understanding ourselves and the world. We might arrive in this world with certain initial settings, but more importantly, we are endowed with the capacity to learn, think, and create.

Just as we interact with AI, constantly using new Prompts to guide it to generate higher-quality content, we too can actively shape and optimize our own life's "Prompt" through positive actions, continuous learning, and deep reflection.

In this sense, we are not just "designed works" but also active "co-designers." The tapestry of life is ultimately painted by our own hands. So, what will your next "Prompt" be?
